JUSTICE
We define Justice as God’s right ordering of things, and we believe, as followers of God, that He is inviting us to partner with Him in His mission for justice on the earth.
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
- Isaiah 1:17
We believe caring for creation is one way we honor God as Creator through prayerful and faithful stewardship of the world around us. As a community, we believe this stewardship begins locally, as we seek God’s heart for creation together. From there, we take action by partnering with individuals and organizations who care for and advocate for creation locally, nationally, and internationally.
Learn more and get involved with this community by emailing our Justice Director Hannah Martha Cohen Banks.

TREE OF LIFE PROJECT
The Tree of Life Project is a partnership between Grace Capital City, the Evangelical Environmental Network, and local tree planting and environmental organizations to serve neighborhoods with low tree canopy. Together, we help provide trees, training, resources, and ongoing support to help communities plant and care for trees. This project focuses on partnering with places of worship and community centers, which are trusted and established voices within their neighborhoods.

We believe racial reconciliation is part of the heart of God, who created all people in His image and calls His church to be one body. Scripture teaches that in Christ we are brought near to one another and called to pursue unity, justice, humility, and love across cultural and racial differences. Racial reconciliation is the ongoing work of listening, learning, repenting, forgiving, and building relationships that reflect God’s kingdom.
We partner with a number of local ministries doing this work, and if you would like to get involved, please connect with us.

Through our partnership with DC127, we serve vulnerable families, foster families, and children in our community by helping build support systems, providing resources, and walking alongside families in difficult seasons. This ministry is one of the ways we seek to care for vulnerable children and families in our city.

We believe Jesus calls us to be peacemakers and to love our neighbors, including those who believe differently than we do. Through partnerships, conversations, and learning opportunities, we seek to build relationships across faiths and cultures and pursue peace, understanding, and reconciliation in our communities and in the world.

We believe God calls us to care not only for our local community, but also for people and communities around the world. As a church, we support missionaries, care for refugees and immigrants, respond to global crises through prayer and action, and seek to grow in awareness and understanding of global justice issues. Our desire is to be a community that welcomes the stranger, pursues justice, and participates in what God is doing both locally and globally.

We believe God calls us to visit, care for, and walk alongside those who are incarcerated and those reentering society after incarceration. Through learning, partnership, and relationship, we seek to support restoration, dignity, and hope for individuals and families impacted by incarceration.
