FASTING: A SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE
Spiritual disciplines (practices) are essential to followers of Jesus. They help anchor us in seasons of being in the wind and the waves, fuel us in seasons we’re needing to run or sprint, and comfort us in seasons of valleys or wilderness.
We recognize that not everyone can participate in a traditional food fast due to medical, nutritional, or psychological reasons. If you fall into this category, we encourage you to approach this spiritual discipline with wisdom, freedom, and grace.
Please consider prayerfully asking: “Lord, what is a faithful and healthy way for me to consecrate my taste in this season?”
This might look like adjusting your fast and partnering with Holy Spirit to find a sacrificial way of consecrating your taste and diet to Jesus.
If this is you, we invite you to be wise, listen to your body, consult any needed medical guidance, and let the Spirit lead you into a form of consecration that honors both your health and your hunger for God.
